Luminous Community Buildings - Set of 5
Luminous Community Buildings - Set of 5
SKU:41001278
A beautiful set of wooden luminous buildings for small world play. Our KCS Luminous Community Buildings are designed to allow children to explore and develop their knowledge and understanding of the world through curiosity. The buildings are made from a beautiful, smooth, tactile wood. Other than their shape and windows, they are featureless, allowing the child's imagination to determine their function. Perhaps a house, Police Station, hospital, or even a museum. They might notice that there are different types of housing such as bungalow, detached, semi-detached, terraced or flats. Who is inside? What takes place inside? Where in the world are the buildings/houses? Designed to spark communication as children explore the light up buildings at various phases, from lights off to all of the lights on, with different combinations of lights in between. Children can explore and discuss the differences between night and day, and light and dark, through play whilst enriching their vocabulary. Is it night time or is it day time? Are they awake or sleeping? What is happening inside the buildings/houses under the different combinations of lights? Children can use their own experiences of their home and community environment to support their knowledge and understanding of the world around them and learn from each other. Change the combination of lights with a simple switch, developing Early ICT skills through cause and effect. They can be charged by USB and used for up to 4 hours hours of light play and infinite hours without light. Contents include 5 buildings and USB chargers.
